Email Template - SEO Stage Phase 1 Setup Search Terms Keywords - Best Practices and Email Delivery To Client

EMAIL SUBJECT: Client Name - Phase 1 Search Terms Optimization

Hello Client Team,

We have researched backend search terms for your products and have completed the first stage of our 4-phase SEO strategy. This stage is one of the most critical and will impact your listings’ rankings and optimization.

Search Terms Implementation

The search terms were chosen after reviewing search volumes and potential sales. Please see the sheet below for the keywords we plan to implement on your listings:

See column x, rows x-x: link to SEO worksheet

There may be brand names and other phrases in the MKL (Master Keyword List) that are against Amazon's policies, however, you can be sure these terms won't be used when we optimize the backend search terms and create the product detail page copy.

Things we consider in our Phase 1 Optimization strategy:

  • Available impressions

    • Words are chosen based on search volume and relevancy

  • Competition for those impressions

  • Long-tail keywords

  • Common misspellings & Spanish terms of core keywords (if high enough search volume)

  • The string of words has thousands of permutations due to the strategic nature of how it is set up.

    • No commas between words

    • No words duplicated

    • In essence, each word combines with the rest of the string to create thousands of keywords.

  • The search terms field affects SEO for traffic generation on Amazon. As you index for keywords, this allows your products to show in the search results. Over time, the goal is to get to page 1 of hundreds, if not thousands, of converting keywords.

The other fields on the keywords page have significantly less impact - such as the subject matter, target audience, and other attributes. We fill them for reinforcement, but the core search term field is the one that has the most impact.

We let the phase 1 search terms matriculate for at least 30 days. Once your products rank on Amazon, we move to phase 2 for the eligible listings (those with 200+ organically ranked keywords). The second phase helps increase indexing by removing low-value keywords that are already present on the listing’s detail page (product title, bullet points, & description) and replacing them with unique ones to ensure optimal SEO efficiency.

Is There Action Needed from Me (The Client)?

Review the keyword changes and advise if these are approved for implementation.
