Master Keyword List (MKL) SOP



Scenario 1: Top 10 competitors are not given by the client/POC:

 

1. Pick a Keyword that describes the client’s product and search it on Amazon. You can use the client/POC description for the product or obtain it sometimes from the ASIN’s title (Well established listings only)

2. Run Xray and identify the top competitor (similar ASIN) by sorting revenue in descending order (largest to smallest). Make sure to omit/delete any sponsored ASINs.

3. Do a reverse ASIN (Select the ASIN then click on “Run in Cerebro” option) on the top competitor to verify if your original keyword is a good seed keyword (relevant). The highest search volume keyword is not necessarily the best

4. Set word count to 1, 30 for the maximum organic rank and match type to organic. Sort Search volume in descending order

5. Go over the keywords one by one starting from the highest search volume to identify the best seed (relevant) keyword. It could be the one you started with in step 1

6. Once you find the best seed keyword, click on the keyword to show amazon search results by this keyword

7.Run XRAY tool on the verified seed keyword

8. Sort Revenue in descending order (largest to smallest)

9. Select the top 10 ASINs starting from the highest revenue. Remove or delete any ASIN you think is irrelevant (not similar to the client’s ASIN)

10. Do a reverse ASIN by clicking on “Run in Cerebro”

11. Set word count to 1, match type to organic, and minimum search volume to 100.

12.Sort search volume in descending order (largest to smallest)

13.Click on Apply

14.Export as CSV

15.Copy results to google sheets

16. Replace Column Named “Position (Rank)” with the first ASIN on Cerebro

17. Remove all columns EXCEPT : Phrase, Search Volume and Competitor/Client ASINs.

18. Create “MAG Score” Column next to the search volume column. Apply countifs formula to all keywords =countifs(RANGE,”<30”)

19. Create a filter for the top row

20. Sort first high to low Search Volume followed by MAG score

21. Filter client’s ASIN column for values between 20 and 50 for phase 3 SEO only

Scenario 2: Top 10 competitors are given by the client/POC:

1. Input the 10 ASINs given by the client/POC on Cerebro (Reverse ASIN lookup)

2. Click on get keywords

3. Set word count to 1, match type to organic, and the minimum search volume to 100.

3. Sort search volume in descending order (largest to smallest)

4. Click on Apply

5. Export as CSV

6. Copy results to google sheets

7. Replace Column Named “Position (Rank)” with the first ASIN on Cerebro
