Phase 1A SEO - Backend Search Terms Optimization

Objective: Optimize Backend Keywords Using Amazon Best SEO Practices, to achieve mass indexing as quickly as possible.

 

Step by Step Guide on How to Get keywords for your Back End Search Terms

 

Goals:

  • Goal is to format your backend search terms with relevant keywords, misspellings, and a little bit of Spanish.

  • Backend search terms are the most important SEO tool we have.

Guidelines:

1. 249 Max Bytes

2. 226 Min Bytes

3. Relevant Keywords

4. Misspellings

5. Spanish

Guide to Locating Keywords Through Amazon: (Two Methods).

MKL Method 1: (Mo Method)

  1. Follow SEO Phase 0 - Process of creating a Master Keyword List (MKL) - here

  2. Once your MKL is created - ensure that you closely research the product (s) you are working with, and remove the following types of keywords:

    1. Non-Relevant Keywords - relevancy checks, ensure that the keywords are relevant, and relate to the product at hand.

    2. NEVER USE Competitor Brand Names

    3. Any prohibited terms - prohibited brand terms (Not conclusive)

    4. Ensure that keywords are not duplicates

    5. Remove commas

  3. Ensure that you use different keywords for items in a parentage.

  4. Finally implement the terms into the backend search terms field on Amazon (either via flat file - or on the backend).

Other Attributes: 

For any KWs that can be used on the other backend KWs (i.e. Target Audience, Other Attributes, Intended Use, Subject Matter), copy and paste them accordingly. Examples will be occasions, target demographics, and alike.

1. Other Attributes are not as Impactful

2. They should be filled out at the very least

3. Find relatable keywords to the other attributes in the strike zone results in helium 10. (birthday for the occasion for example)

4. Make sure each attribute is filled out (Keep clicking add more until it will not let you do so any longer.

Target Demographics = Target Audience

Occasions = Subject Matter

Used For = Common Sense (What is the product used for?)

Other Attributes = Features (10 oz, Size, etc) (These don’t exist in most categories)

Next Full Phase: We let phase 1 matriculate for at least 30 days, for maximum indexing. After 30 days we move onto phase 2, which aims to index further keywords, common misspellings, spanish, etc in effort to grow long tail keywords, and remove duplicates.
