How to Check Hidden Suppression

How to Check Hidden Suppression

/hidden suppressions/

are active listings that are not searchable in the Amazon catalog, hence the term "hidden".

  1. Access the current client sheet to check the name of the client as well as the login email and credentials sheet to get the password.

  2. Log in to seller central using the login email and password.

Once logged in to seller central, under the Inventory tab click “Inventory Reports” and download the Category Listing Report (CLR).

If in any case that there is no Category Listing Report (CLR) option on the Inventory Reports, create a ticket to Amazon requesting to enable the Category Listing Report (CLR).

Once Category Listing Report is downloaded, open the downloaded file then go to the “Review” section and click “Unprotect sheet”.

`

  1. On your keyboard, press CTRL+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW. Next, go to “Sort & Filter” then click “Filter”. Go to the “item_type” section and you will see a dropdown button then click dropdown button and select blanks. Lastly, go to “external_product (Product ID Type)” section you will see a dropdown button then click dropdown button and select color yellow.

  2. Once done with the steps provided above, the sheet will then be updated and you will see all the remaining ASINs on the sheet. You can now check these ASINs one by one on the Amazon.com page.

  3. Go back to seller central and open a new tab and type in Amazon.com.

  4. On the search bar on Amazon.com page, paste the ASIN from the CLR sheet and click search.

  5. If the ASIN is showing on Amazon.com page then the listing is fine.

If the ASIN is not showing on the Amazon.com page as it shows no results, then the listing could possibly have hidden suppression.

Go back to the CLR sheet and highlight the ASIN that shows no results on Amazon.com page.

Note: Only highlight ASIN on the CLR sheet if you found that the listing is not showing on Amazon.com page. Refer to the attached sample photo above for ASINs highlighted in yellow.

Check one by one on the manage inventory all the highlighted ASINs found on the CLR sheet if there is hidden suppression.

Note: You will only check for ASINs that are showing active on manage inventory page. Disregard if the status shows Inactive (out of stock), Inactive (closed), etc.

  1. If found that ASIN is showing active on manage inventory but not showing in the Amazon detail page and has no category, then change the category in the “HELP” section on seller central page.

  2. If ASIN is showing active on manage inventory and not showing in the Amazon detail page but has a category, cut a ticket to Amazon requesting to remove the suppression since the listing is not an adult category product.

Note: In order to check and confirm whether the listing has category or not, open a new tab and type in “Amazon.com/dp/ASIN” it should be like this “Amazon.com/dp/B08GC49BDX” (change it to its respective ASIN).

If found no hidden suppression on the listings, then leave a comment on the task and mark it complete.
