Stranded Inventory (Inventory Error)

Stranded Inventory (Inventory Error)

Locate Your Stranded Inventory

First, you need to go into your Seller Central account and head over to your Inventory section. Inside there, you’ll be able to manage your inventory. If you have any items that have been flagged as stranded inventory, a section will appear labeled “Fix Stranded Inventory.”

Check The Stranded reason

When you click on the “Fix Standard Inventory” page, you’ll see a list of your inventory that has been stranded and the reasons Amazon has flagged it. Hovering over the issue will explain the problem in more detail.

Once you’ve determined which listings have an inactive offer, you can take the next step.

Amazon Listing Error

There is a listing error when your product is not connected to any ASIN. This can be due to the deletion of your listing or if a listing was never created in the first place. All you need to do is relist your inventory. When you get to the Stranded Inventory tab, go to the last column of your problematic listing and choose option “Refresh stranded reason” and wait for a few minutes (repeat this process multiple times).

If the listing gets fixed, it will disappear from stranded inventory and ASIN should show as “Active” in your inventory – If the listing didn’t fix then download the category listings report and upload a full update on the ASIN.

Go to Inventory > Inventory Reports and Download the category listings report

Once Category Listing Report is downloaded, open the downloaded file then go to the “Review” section and click “Unprotect sheet”. Turn on the filter and locate the problematic listing (SKU) by searching it through the Seller SKU column.

Note: Make sure you are only updating the problematic listing/s.

Double check each piece of information before proceeding with the upload.

Once your file is complete, save it and upload it to Amazon, by going to Inventory > Add products via Upload and clicking on  Upload your Inventory File tab.

Wait until the inventory file is processed +15 mins and make sure it is uploaded successfully and keep the BATCH ID

Go back to the Fix Stranded Page

Try to “Refresh Stranded Reason” again. Wait another 15 minutes – if it wouldn’t disappear in stranded inventory and listing wouldn’t change to Active on its own, contact Seller Support and ask them to Reactivate this offer and provide the batch ID.
